Gujarat Government’s big announcement: Schools and colleges will start from November 23

Attendance of students in schools will not be considered compulsory, besides online education work will also continue.
 The state government (Gujarat Government) today made a big announcement to start education in the state after Diwali.  For this, the SoP announced by the Central Government will have to be complied with by the schools and colleges.  Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama made the announcement after a cabinet meeting.  On this occasion, he also clarified that the attendance of students will not be considered compulsory.  In addition, the work of online education will continue.
 Which classes will start?
 As per the announcement of the Education Minister, classes from Std-9 to Std-12 will start in the state from November 23.  As far as colleges and universities are concerned, postgraduate classes will start.  In addition, classes will only begin for undergraduate and graduate students.  In addition medical and paramedical classes will begin.  Speaking of engineering, classes will be started only for final year students as well as for ITI and Polytechnic.
 Odd-even option:
 Schools have been instructed to adopt odd-even formula as announced by the Education Minister.  One day students of one standard and another day students of another standard can be called at the school.  It has also been clarified that the attendance of students will not be considered compulsory.  This means that students who want to come to school can come, they will not be forced.  In addition, online study will continue.  So students can study online or even go to school to study.
 Mandatory compliance with Central Government guidelines
 It is mandatory to follow the guidelines issued by the Central Government after the commencement of schools.  Students and teachers will have to measure the temperature with a thermal gun before starting school.  In addition, students need to be placed in a way that maintains social distance.  Soap washing will also be arranged for students at the school.  It will be the responsibility of the school principal to ensure that all these things are complied with.  The decision to start other classes will be taken after the commencement of Std-9 to 12 classes.  If a child falls ill during school, they should be immediately shifted to the nearest health center for treatment.
 Parents have to give consent
 Parents of students who want to come and study at the school will have to give their written consent to the schools.  The MoU will also state the rules that schools and student parents must follow.  There is also an instruction that schools cannot force students to come to school.
The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Vijay Bhai Rupani has decided to resume education in secondary, higher secondary schools and colleges in the state after Diwali.
 Education Minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama and Minister of State Vibhavari Bahan Dave gave details of the decision.
  He said that school-college-educational institutions in the country, including Gujarat, had been shut down since March with the intention of preventing the spread of Corona virus covid-19.
 In order not to spoil the academic year and future of the students, under the guidance of the Chief Minister, the Education Department has also successfully implemented the system of online learning.
 
 Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, public life, economic and industrial activities have not been stopped in the various phases of lockdown and now unlock 1 to 5 in the state.
 Online education has ensured that school-college children meet students at home.
 Now, the state government of Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani has decided to resume educational work in schools and colleges in the state in phases in compliance with the guidelines and guidelines of the Government of India in this unlock.
 Before coming to the final conclusion of this decision, the government has made a final decision by holding a round of meetings with various stakeholders like education department, school-college, university administrators-academics, getting everyone’s votes.
 The decision has been approved in today’s cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.
 After Diwali, i.e. from November 29, the Cabinet has decided to start teaching in secondary-higher secondary and college-universities in the state.
 Classes from Std-9 to 1 of the state will be started from Monday, November 26 with full compliance with the SOP guidelines of the Government of India.
 Academic work will also start in colleges from 26th November 
 Post graduate, medical and paramedical classes will be started in the first phase in colleges and universities.  As well as for undergraduate, only final year classes will be started.
 Final year and I.T.I.  And Polytechnic Colleges will also be operational on 26th November.
 Before starting school-colleges, each campus will have to ensure hygiene facilities, checking of students with thermal gun, sanitizer and soap for hand washing 
 Not only is social distance maintained in classrooms and school-college campuses, masks are mandatory.
 It is also important to ensure that medical services are available within close proximity to the school-college.
Following the SOP of the Government of India, the online education system provided by the schools and colleges in the state will be continued.
 This SOP will be equally applicable to all Government, Grant-in-Aid and Self Finance Schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Social Justice and Empowerment Department as well as Tribal Development Department schools of all the boards in the state.
 Classes of Std-9 to 12 as well as PG, Medical-Paramedical and undergraduate final year classes will start in the state from next 28th November.
The government will announce later to take appropriate decision in time to start the educational work of the remaining classes-standards 
Student attendance at school is not mandatory 
Institutions must also obtain the written consent of the student’s parents or guardians to come to school.
 Students will be asked to bring their own mask, water bottle, books, snacks etc. from home and not to interact with other students.
 According to the revised seating arrangement in the classroom, there should be a distance of at least 5 feet between two students.
 The principal-principal is to arrange for the students to come in stages so that there is no overcrowding in the school-college complex.
 For this purpose, the state government has asked to make arrangements for Odd Even i.e. three days in a week for Std. 9th and 11th and three days for 10 and 12 in school as per requirement.
 It has also been suggested that students should come to school on the scheduled days of the week and do homework assignments on the remaining days.
 Mass Prayer – Also instructed not to do sports or other group activities on the field.
 Parents will be encouraged to use their personal transportation to get the child to and from school.
 Students who use public transport will also be given proper precautionary guidance from the school.
